Outdoor Playsets

If you have children you need an interesting backyard to keep their focus.  Outdoor play sets provide a great past time for kids to burn off energy while having fun with their friends.  There are endless designs that include swingset gliders, swings, playground slides, tube slides, teeter totters, platforms and other play accessories.

There are metal swing sets and wooden swing sets along with other outdoor gym accessories.  Make sure if you purchase a metal one that it is at least galvanized metal so it doesn’t rust out very fast.  If you would rather have a wooden one then make sure it is made of pressure treated wood.

Depending on how much money you want to spend you can get a basic swing set or go gung ho and buy one of those ultimate outdoor play sets that have it all.

One thing I noticed when I installed my outdoor playground my kids were home much more and out in the backyard, instead of being in front of the television or game boy.  Other kids in the neighbourhood were also showing up.  It’s nice to see who your kid’s friends are and meet them in person.  A good backyard playground needs to be durable and safe.  Very young children should be supervised at all times and even up close by mom or dad.  There are toddler swing sets that may be better suited for children who need an enclosed swing seat with a safety bar.  It’s always a good idea to put a 6 inch layer of sand in the swing area and slide area to help soften any unplanned falls.  The sand can also double as a backyard sandbox play area which in itself will provide lots of fun.  I like the sand area because it’s less grass for me to cut!  Other play accessories you can add to the mix if you happen to have a large tree with the right branch is a tire swing.  Spring swings are a great addition and really good for smaller children.

Keep in mind if you purchase a large outdoor playground equipment system you will likely have to leave it with the home if you sell and move.  On the up side of this you may get a little more for your home.  Hopefully you won’t have to move until your children have made good use of it.  If you’re really lucky maybe your grandkids will get the chance to try it out also.

I have learned some considerations through your blog post. One other point I would like to express is that there are plenty of games on the market designed specifically for preschool age youngsters. They include things like pattern recognition, colors, animals, and models. These usually focus on familiarization as opposed to memorization. This keeps a child occupied without sensing like they are learning. Thanks..
