Candle Sconce to Light the Patio

Forget about traditional outdoor lighting fixtures. To set your back yard or patio apart from the rest, consider using a candle sconce set for mood lighting. The latest versions of outdoor lanterns and candle sconces are safe, affordable and powerful enough to light up a barbecue area.

You have read dozens of articles about how the outdoor sconce is the way to go to illuminate the front or back yard. While a wall sconce is a great, classic addition to a home, you can save time and money by using candle light instead of electricity. What makes a candle sconce so much better is that you are not limited by wiring. You decide where the lights go and, at the drop of a hat, you can change your mind. That sort of flexibility is not to be dismissed. If you decide to have an impromptu dinner party in the far corner of the yard, under the oak tree, you have all the lighting you need with outdoor lanterns.

Of course some people voice concerns about open flame lighting, but that is another thing that is so great about a candle wall sconce, in comparison to traditional candle sticks – the flame is out of the way of the traffic patterns. Tables get jostled and yes, candles can tip over causing small to large damage. But if the flame is not on a surface, if it is protected by a glass lamp, then you have a cheap, safe, flexible lighting solution.

Outdoor sconces, either the wired kind, or the wick and candle variety are a great way to bring light to the back yard barbecue. You may have some fixed outdoor wall lights already, but to bring a festive ambiance to your back yard entertaining think about supplementing the existing lighting with candle sconces and outdoor lanterns.
